Construction of the Citrus Orchard Project at Lorestan University's Central Campus has commenced.

The project to establish a citrus orchard at the central campus of Lorestan University commenced with the presence of Dr. Ali Nazari, President of Lorestan University.
According to the Public Relations Department of Lorestan University, on Thursday morning, May 31st, with the presence of Dr. Ali Nazari, President of Lorestan University, Dr. Saeed Mohammadzadeh, Vice President for Support of Lorestan University, Dr. Mehdi Soleimani-Motlagh, Head of the Green Management Department of Lorestan University, Dr. Raji (from the Faculty of Agriculture of Lorestan University), Yousef Abbasi, Director of Security of Lorestan University, the green space personnel of Lorestan University, and a group of faculty members and academic assistants of this university, the planting of seedlings to establish a citrus orchard at the central campus of Lorestan University began.
In this regard, we interviewed Dr. Mehdi Soleimani-Motlagh, Head of the Green Management Department of Lorestan University.
Dr. Soleimani-Motlagh told our reporter: "In line with green management and water consumption management, a citrus orchard will be created in the land adjacent to the central administrative building of Lorestan University."
He elaborated: "About 280 seedlings will be planted in this area."
The Head of the Green Management Department of Lorestan University stated: "The planted seedlings include mandarin, orange, grapefruit, lemon, tangor, and bitter orange."
Dr. Mehdi Soleimani-Motlagh stated: "A total of 60 oak seedlings have also been donated to the university for planting by Mr. Dr. Feyzollah Shahbazi, a respected faculty member of the Faculty of Agriculture of Lorestan University, which will be planted in the native species park of Lorestan University."
He continued: "Every year, Mr. Dr. Shahbazi donates seedlings for the protection of the environment and natural resources."
Dr. Soleimani-Motlagh clarified: "With the aim of eliminating grass {due to high water consumption} and eliminating water-intensive species, species have been used that require less water and irrigation."
The Head of the Green Management Department of Lorestan University explained: "In the construction of the citrus orchard at the central campus of Lorestan University, species with medium heights have been used; this will prevent the height of the trees from damaging the view of the central administrative building of Lorestan University."
