Performance Report for the Final Two Months of 1400 in the Areas of Green Management and Tree Planting

Summary Report

In order to develop green spaces and orchards with the aim of protecting the environment and natural resources and institutionalizing the culture of tree planting, the decisions of the Green Management Steering Council of Lorestan University led to jihadist actions during the last 2 months of 1400. The priority of Lorestan University's green management in the development of orchards is to plant fruitful trees and use drought-resistant and low-water-consuming species with high performance, in addition to creating and expanding the appearance and landscape of green space in the university environment, a platform for education and research, and also as a source of income for the university, and the green economy of the university will be improved. In this regard, 500 olive saplings, 500 almond saplings, 1000 vine saplings (grapes) and 200 rose bushes were delivered and planted from the Jihad Agricultural Organization and the General Directorate of Natural Resources and Watershed Management of Lorestan Province. In addition, in order to beautify the margins of the streets and inside the boulevards, 500 saplings of Caucasian elm and Persian silk tree were planted. The area under cultivation of fruitful orchards and beautiful trees is about 6 hectares. It is worth mentioning that the site selection of the orchards was done based on the comprehensive map of Lorestan University and the type of cultivars used was selected based on the potentials and compatibility with the climate and soil conditions of the region.

Performance report for the last 2 months of 1400 in the field of green management and tree planting

- Holding a face-to-face meeting in line with the planning of Tree Planting Day, following letter No. 305403/61/6 dated 19/11/1400, in cooperation with the Vice-Chancellor for Cultural and Social Affairs of Lorestan University, the representative of the environment and student associations, including the Environment Association. In this regard, suggestions were made, including how to hold the Tree Planting Day ceremony, culturalization by holding various webinars in line with green management, participation of education in the discussion of culturalization of various aspects of green management, using native and compatible plants with the region for the development of green space, the activity of the media in line with green management, providing green management programs in accordance with the environmental calendar, eliminating paper in administrative correspondence, following up on the establishment of student cooperatives in order to manage orchards and agricultural lands and reviewing the potential of renting university lands and orchards to the private sector.

- Holding a virtual meeting in cooperation with the Vice-Chancellor for Cultural and Social Affairs, the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and the heads of educational groups related to natural resources and environmental issues and active students regarding the planning of Tree Planting Day and Natural Resources Week.

- Numerous follow-ups with correspondence and by visiting the Jihad Agricultural Organization, the General Directorate of Natural Resources and Watershed Management, the City Council, the Municipality, the Organization of Landscape and Urban Green Space in the field of providing fruitful and beautiful saplings, ornamental flowers, cleaning and planting saplings on the margins of the northern entrance of the university.

- Correspondence and follow-up to launch modern irrigation systems for the development of orchards and research farms from the Jihad Agricultural Organization

- Consultation to receive agricultural equipment and tools from the Jihad Agricultural Organization of Lorestan Province

- Receiving 500 olive saplings, 500 almond saplings, 1000 vine saplings (grapes), 500 Caucasian elm and Persian silk tree saplings and 200 rose bushes from the Jihad Agricultural Organization and the General Directorate of Natural Resources and Watershed Management

- Field visit 7/11/1400 - Starting the project of developing green space and tree planting at Lorestan University in order to improve the indicators of "Green Management" - emphasizing Dr. Nazari, the respected president of Lorestan University, on the importance of developing green space and the university being a model in the field of green management indicators. Also, the secretary of the Green Management Steering Council has emphasized the development of low-water-consuming and drought-resistant species such as olives, almonds, and the expansion of medicinal plants and introducing university areas as watershed model areas for conducting theses, projects and research and creating a watershed park and improving environmental, cultural, economic and social indicators.

13/11/1400- Joint meeting between Lorestan University and the General Directorate of Environmental Protection of Lorestan Province

Discussion and exchange of views on joint educational and research cooperation between Lorestan University and the General Directorate of Environment of Lorestan Province in the form of a memorandum of understanding for environmental issues and green management

- Field visit 15/11/1400 - With the aim of improving green management indicators, and the efficiency of various farms

Reviewing and identifying the potential and capabilities of the lands of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources to expand educational and research topics and develop green space. Also, emphasizing the formation of a working group to prepare a roadmap for the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, as well as receiving suggestions from educational groups in line with future educational and research needs with the aim of improving green management indicators, creating employment and generating income by considering the capacities and looking to the future.

In this regard, the Green Management Office of the University prepared the initial map of land use by separating the lands with the help of GIS software and Google Earth and field visits for optimal land planning.

- Following up and removing paper files for changing the status and promoting faculty members in selected and specialized committees and making them electronic from 19/11/1400

- The initial phase of collecting a number of printers from the central organization of Lorestan University and launching the central printer system

- Monitoring water consumption and investigating the cause of excessive water consumption in the buildings of Lorestan University

- Receiving suggestions and ideas from professors and students for energy saving and reducing water consumption

- Introducing the members of the Green Management Steering Council and forming its committees

- Starting green management training in other departments by introducing professors related to the environment and natural resources

- Supporting students and student associations for green management training by forming virtual networks

- Field visit 26/11/1400 - Visit of Jihad Agricultural managers from Lorestan University with the aim of joint cooperation to improve green management indicators - The purpose of this visit was to expand joint cooperation between the Jihad Agricultural Organization of Lorestan Province and Lorestan University regarding the improvement of modern irrigation methods in the green space sector and the expansion of planting fruitful trees in the central site of Lorestan University and the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources of the university.

- 5/12/1400- Bilateral cooperation between the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources of Lorestan University and the Jihad Agricultural Organization of the province

The output of this meeting was the expansion of joint cooperation in a sustainable and operational manner based on the capacities and capabilities of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and the formation of joint technical working groups and committees with the proposal to conclude a memorandum of understanding to solve the challenges and problems of the agricultural and natural resources sector of Lorestan province with university, scientific and applied approaches. Also, the communication and cooperation of Jihad Agriculture with Lorestan University for providing saplings and agricultural and modern irrigation equipment was emphasized.

With the cooperation of Green Management, the Vice-Chancellor for Cultural and Social Affairs of Lorestan University and the Environment Association, a specialized virtual meeting was held with two topics: "Biodiversity of gall-forming insects in the Zagros growing region and their effects", and "The situation and trend of destruction of natural resources in Lorestan and the necessity of its restoration" with the participation of professors and students.

13/12/1400 - Inviting Lorestan University members and 60 managers and heads of departments and organizations and institutions to participate in the tree planting ceremony

- Tree Planting Day ceremony at Lorestan University (March 15, 1400)

The Tree Planting Day ceremony and the commemoration of Natural Resources Week was held with the joint cooperation of the Vice-Chancellor for Cultural and Social Affairs of Lorestan University, the University Members Committee of the National Congress of 6544 Martyrs of Lorestan Province, the Environment Association of Lorestan University, the Green Management Steering Council of Lorestan University and the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources of Lorestan University.

In this ceremony, saplings were planted in memory of 110 martyr students of Lorestan province, 6 martyr students of Lorestan University and 47 martyrs belonging to the families of the respected martyrs (employees of Lorestan University) in various parks of the unknown martyrs' cemetery of Lorestan University.

This ceremony was held with the widespread welcome of guests, managers; heads of organizations, departments and institutions as well as university members and students in the unknown martyrs' cemetery of Lorestan University.

- 23/12/1400- Announcement of planting saplings for the construction of the staff garden of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources

The sapling planting program for the construction of the staff garden of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources was announced on the occasion of Natural Resources Week and the commemoration of the memory of 6544 martyrs of Lorestan province in line with the development of green space and the optimal use of lands.

24/12/1400- Ceremony of planting saplings for the construction of the staff garden of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources of Lorestan University

The sapling planting ceremony was held at the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources of Lorestan University in order to create a garden for the staff of the faculty. In this ceremony, saplings were planted in memory of the martyrs whose respected families are employed at Lorestan University, such as the martyrs Sohrabi, martyr Matinfar and martyr Zarei. Also, in memory of the former presidents of Lorestan University who are not alive, the late Dr. Sadeghi and the late Dr. Enayat, saplings were also planted. Also, in memory of the late Hojjatoleslam and Muslims Dr. Eidi, a sapling was planted. And in memory of 83 martyrs of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of Lorestan Province, saplings were also planted.

The purpose of creating the staff garden of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources of Lorestan University, in addition to cultural dimensions, is to improve green management indicators, strengthen the concept of a green university, expand green space and tree planting, provide university models for protecting natural resources and watershed management, and strengthen plans, research and applied research in the field of natural resources and watershed management.

- Leveling the land and digging holes for the construction of a cultural garden

In order to develop a suitable green space next to the building of the cultural building of Martyr Soleimani, the land was leveled and more than 600 holes were dug with a backhoe.

-25/12/1400- Planting saplings in the cultural garden

On Wednesday, March 25, in memory of the commander of the Islamic world, martyr Haj Qassem Soleimani, and with the participation of managers and forces of the Vice-Chancellor for Cultural and Social Affairs of Lorestan University and the Green Management of Lorestan University, the sapling planting ceremony was held. Expanding green space and promoting the culture of protecting natural resources, as well as providing scientific and university models for managing watershed areas, are among the goals of various tree planting programs at Lorestan University.

- From April 11 to 14, 1401, backfilling, fertilizing and collecting debris of more than 175 Nissan trucks with backhoe loading for the construction of the green space of the central organization of Lorestan University with an area of about 5000 square meters.
